Cypress, Willows, and Dandelion

I'm part of the group Southern Fiber Artists. Within that group there are ten of us Sharing Fiber Art. We each make an 8"x10" piece of art for each person in the Shared Fiber Art group. So, I've been making and receiving pieces of fiber art.  Here are some of my finished works that I need to pass out to fellow artists.

Willow VI -- Murky

Life ...
Corn harvest is in full swing.

... as a Quilter
Willow VI -- Murky
8" X 10"

Detail

Patches ironed onto the background.

I pulled fabric for auditioning a silhouette.

After consideration, I chose the very dark brown solid fabric for my silhouette.

I tweaked the willow and ironed it down to the quilted background and then free motion stitched it for the final piece.

Patches Workshop

I recently had a "Patches" workhop in our home. These ladies came from Alabama, Mississippi, and as far away as Kentucky. We had a delightful time together.

They worked hard to get their pieces quilted before leaving.

Fresh Faces, New Ideas
Quilt Challenge
PAAQT sponsored the Fresh Faces, New Ideas challenge to continue support of The National Quilt Museum, and to showcase new and upcoming talent within the quilt world. This year’s theme is thread embellishment. These quilts will travel for a year and will be auctioned at The National Quilt Museum’s auction at the AQS QuiltWeek – Spring Paducah 2019.

This willow was made for the 2016 SAQA Benefit Auction. It's already sold.

This one called "Weeping for Home," measures 20"X25", depicting Psalm 137 and is available for $650.

These last three pieces are depictions of my original works. They measure 8"X11" and are mounted on black mat board.
