Dustin and Gina

Mr. & Mrs. Dustin Graber -- Congratulations and Best Wishes!

We were glad to go to NY to our son's wedding.

We celebrated Stacy's 3rd birthday at the house where we stayed.

What fun to open the gifts.

And then the boys were anxious to use this fancy tub for their bath, leaving their clothes strewn on the floor.

We had a nice rehearsal supper with Dustin & Gina leading the way.

The bridal party practicing for the wedding.

Dustin came to our house on the lake all ready for his wedding. Here he has a good laugh with Mother.

Since the wedding didn't start until 3:00 p.m. I had time to visit Naomi at The Quilt Room. There were lots and lots of beautiful traditional quilts along with lots of other lovely gifts.

We passed this huge field of cabbage and couldn't resist a stop for a pose. The heads were large and it looked like it could be ready to harvest. I wonder what they will do with them all.

I was glad at least a few from my family could attend the wedding. Here Cheryl, Polly, Yours Truely, and Emily visit after the reception.

Red Velvet Comforter

Back in September when we were in Ohio for the Haiti Benefit Auction, my sister Coleen and I spied this red velvet comforter that was to be auctioned.

I guessed that it was made by my Aunt Vera Rose, Father's youngest sister. And sure enough she was there at the sale and acknowledged that she made it. My heart started beating fast and I knew I had to have ... rather, wanted real bad ... that piece of handiwork.

And when the bidding began my dear Paul kept on nodding until everyone else dropped out. I am so pleased.

The pictures just don't show how the fabrics sparkle, glimmer, and shine. And the feather stitching is so even and perfect. It is beautiful!!!!

Jed & Vicki and Random Happenings

Yesterday we attended the wedding of Paul's niece Vicki to Jed.

Then for supper we invited in all the Grabers and their company.

Our house was "buzzing" with people. We want our home to be open and everyone welcome, so our slogan is, "There's alway's room for one more." We counted 90 guests! We had hoped to visit and eat outside, but alas the weather turned cold so we opted to fellowship inside.

Emily & I went to the Pine Belt Quilt Show in Hattiesburg where my "Climbing Higher -- Jacob's Ladder" quilt won an honorable mention ribbon.

Alzheimer's Quilt

Stripped Bare

As a tree is stripped bare of it's leaves, so my Father was stripped of his memory and often wanted Mother to finish the stories he would tell. He often asked "Now, (pause) how was it, Margaret? I can't quite remember."
